Job Opportunities
Associate Veterinarian
Montana Equine is seeking veterinarians to join our team!
Our rapidly-growing practice includes veterinarians working in three of the largest major metro communities in Southwest Montana: Bozeman, Billings, and the state capitol of Helena. With satellite locations outside Livingston MT, and nearby in Ketchum ID, our group offers huge opportunities for potential growth, regardless of whether you are an experienced general practitioner or a board-certified specialist.
Not to mention the scenery, lifestyle, climate and culture.
Our practice was first founded in 1999, and was built with primary emphasis on sports medicine and general care. We expanded into specialty services in 2005 with the addition of full-time board-certified experts. Our caseload includes a wide variety of Western and English performance athletes, as well as ranch and pleasure horses.
Our surgical referral center was built in 2007 in the stunning Gallatin Valley just West of Bozeman. Montana Equine’s ambulatory practices in Helena and Billings were founded in 2015 and 2016 respectively, and a clinic facility was established in Billings in 2018. All locations are well-equipped with advanced imaging capabilities, and our teams of veterinarians continuously collaborate on cases distributed across our wide geographic practice area.
Our hospitals serve as referral centers for veterinarians across a three-state area. We have an active externship/preceptorship program, and draw internship candidates from across the entire US and beyond, with most of our interns and staff veterinarians hailing from the Western US.
The towns and small cities of Montana are among the fastest-growing in all of the U.S., in part due to access to unrivalled natural surroundings. Bozeman has been long-recognized as a recreational paradise, and is quickly becoming a cosmopolitan technology hub. It also boasts access to nearby Yellowstone National Park and Big Sky Resort, among other attractions. Billings is the largest metro area in the state, and is set amidst the striking rimrocks of the Yellowstone River, not far from the famous Beartooth and Pryor Mountain Ranges. Helena is the state Capitol and boasts close access to the Bob Marshall Wilderness, while Livingston remains the quaint town and fly-fishing mecca that has long-drawn all types of artists, musicians and nature-lovers. There is truly something for everyone in the towns and communities served by our practice.
The ideal candidate should have a team-oriented attitude, and the drive to provide outstanding care to the entire practice’s clients and horses. More often than not, our clients are our friends, and strong communication skills are also a must. All of our long-term veterinarians and staff share the desire to grow the practice while building relationships across our communities. At the same time, our group believes in work-life balance. What good would it be to live in glorious “Big Sky Country” if you didn’t get to enjoy everything the Northern Rockies has to offer? We have a “Work Hard – Play Hard” culture.
Considering a move West? We’d like to hear from you!
